Asylum Granted to Iraqi Informant

The Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services (BCIS) has recently granted asylum to Mohammed Odeh Al Rehaief, the Iraqi citizen who provided information to the U.S. Marines leading to the rescue of Private Jessica Lynch.  Mr. Al Rehaief"s wife and five year old daughter were also granted asylum at the Arlington, Virginia asylum office.

Mr. Al Rehaief provided detailed information to U.S. Marines as to the whereabouts of Private Lynch after discovering that she was being detained at the Saddam Hospital in Nassiriyah.  After Private Lynch's rescue, Mr. Al Rehaief and his family were granted humanitarian parole and were brought into the U.S. by the Department of Defense.
