ANSWER:  John Quincy Adams was the first president to appear in a photograph (taken after his presidency).  Note that James K. Polk was the first to be photographed in office.

2. Wear trousers (as opposed to breeches)?

ANSWER:  James Madison.

3. Fly in an airplane?

ANSWER:  Theodore Roosevelt.

4. Be a bachelor when elected to office?

ANSWER:  James Buchanan.

5. Have a bathtub with running water in the White House?
